Busting This Claim - 

1) The picture is from Russia, 1955. NOT USA 

2) The "enthusiastic spontaneous turnout" was NOT for Nehru. It was social workers day in Magnitogorsk. 

3) Nehru was so "popular" in that Russia trip that he was mistaken for a personal chef.

Because of his white headdress, Nehru was mistaken for a
personal chef by Russians.
Although most Russian men did not know who she really was, they shouted at Indira "Oh what a beautiful Turkey!" Indira did not know Russian and simply waved back at them.
